Fo Martin

Founding Director

Fo's family have owned the Balcombe Estate since 1905.

When Balcombe Place came back into their possession in 2017, Fo was determined to find the best use for the house. Fo wanted a sustainable future for the house that was in keeping with the surrounding estate and has, through personal investment achieved exactly that.

Fo has been integral to the renovation of the house and making sure it feels like home. You’ll often find her telling stories of the house, the estate and the family while being hands on and helping the house team before, during and after events.

Emma Jacobsen

Managing Director

A family friend since 2007, Emma knows how important the estate is to the family and was asked to manage renovations and set up Balcombe Place Ltd in 2017. Emma worked tirelessly to create a successful, ethical business, that has brought new life to the house, mutually benefiting the family and the estate and, always, prioritising guests.

With over 150 weddings under her belt and consultant to a number of businesses, Emma knows a thing or two about the industry. Manager for all aspects of Balcombe Place, she has an exceptional eye for detail and high expectations to ensure Balcombe Place isn’t just good, but brilliant.

 
 
 
 

Grace Trehearne

Wedding & Events Coordinator

Grace is our in-house coordinator, she is dedicated to each and every client, and truly is passionate about her job.

Proudly IADL accredited with a GNVQ level 3 and a distinction in professional wedding and event planning Grace is technically more qualified than anyone else on site! Trained in the ways of Balcombe Place Grace knows the ins and outs, the expectations, the quirks and the secrets to running the perfect event.

Grace is an integral member of our team and not only keeps the day to day running of the house going but also leads the charge at all of our weddings. Our brides and grooms adore her. She settles the nerves, provides support, encourages ideas and always with a smile.

Shrimpy Martin

In-house chef & Director

Shrimpy trained at Le Cordon Bleu and Leith’s School of Food and Wine. She has over 14 years of experience in catering. Shrimpy is always on hand to help create your bespoke menu, working with you to ensure your favourites are available and working around dietary requirements.

As Fo’s daughter, Shrimpy is heavily involved in the daily running of the business and is passionate about maintaining the standard of service we provide and looking for improvements wherever possible.
